The 3rd cycle of postgraduate studies programme of the School of Philology of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki includes the preparation of a Doctoral Thesis. Doctoral Studies in the School of Philology aim to promote knowledge and original scientific research in the fields of Classical Philology, Medieval Greek Philology, Modern Greek Philology, General Comparative Literature and (Theoretical, Applied and Historical) Linguistics, leading to the acquisition of a PhD degree awarded by Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
The new Regulation for Doctoral Studies in the School of Philology of the Faculty of Philosophy of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Government Gazette issue B 451/14.02.2018 / FEK, issue Β 451/14.02.2018) is valid as of February 2018. It also applies to students who were enrolled in the Doctoral Studies cycle before the effect of law 4485/2017 with the exception of cases for which a seven member examination committee had been established before 4-2-2017.
